In December Animal Ashram’s founder and actress Leesa Rowland and The Real Housewives of New York Ramona Singer hosted the organization’s first annual furry fundraiser. In true New York fashion guests were encourage to wear gowns and jewels. Guests were also asked to bring blankets, towels and pet toys that were donated to the Animal Care Centers of NYC.
Ramona’s RHONY castmates Dorinda Medley & John Mahdessian, Sonja Morgan, Tinsley Mortimer, and Carole Radziwill were in attendance. Other guests included: Rocco Ancarola, Shawni Alexander, Evelyn Anattos, Michael Arguello, Geoffrey Bradfield, Sharon Bush, Robin Cofer & Dominick D’Alleva, Jennifer Creel, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Rafael Feldman, Somer Farkas, Lee Fryd, Cornelia Guest, R. Couri Hay, Peter Max, John Mesa, Pamela Morgan, Michael Musto, Jane Scher, Jean Shafiroff, and Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia.
Rowland thanked her co-host Ramona Singer for her support of animals and said “This events helps Animal Ashram raise funds and awareness for New York City animal shelters that desperately need assistance. Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. These animals need us to take a stand and protect them.”
Leesa Rowland, Romana Singer, and Animal Ashram’s Founding Member Larry Wohl raffled off: a cruelty-free clutch by Cornelia Guest, a necklace by Mina D Jewelry, A Vegan Divas gift certificate and Vegan Divas cookbook signed by Fernanda Capobianco, Gift certificate to WILD, a gift certificate to Facial Rejuvenation by Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon John Mesa, an interior design package which included a consultation with interior designer Michael Arguello and two of his custom made pillows, a gift certificate to Madonna & Co, a sequin Theia Dress, a custom made Maggie Norris Couture beaded chocker, and a gift certificate to Jane Scher.
The festive affair was catered by Cornelia Guest Catering, the menu featured tasty vegan hors d’oeuvres. Fashion designer Maggie Norris decorated R.Couri Hay’s Upper West Side townhouse into a perfect magical winter wonderland. The host, Leesa Rowland wore a beautiful red silk gown design by Norris.
