The Restaurant at MAMA Shelter hosted a special holiday dinner prepared by Executive Chef Jonathan Kim, as they introduced their Pink Christmas ambiance to diners, revelers and hotel guests.
LA native, Chef Jonathan Kim, Previously of The London and Providence, among others), wowed our palettes with a delicious menu featuring locally grown ingredients. His normal seasonal menu offers an Americana influence reflective of his Korean roots.
The expanded MAMA team also includes new pastry chef Angie Gomez, who has continued MAMA’s classic desserts as well as new indulgent and delicious additions, such as their chocolate cake.
Executive Chef Kim’s new signature introductions to The Restaurant at MAMA Shelter menu includes their main floor eatery open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily plus their newly introduced weekend brunch Thursday-Saturday from Midnight to 4am. Dinner and all-day dining include dishes such as the already popular Wagyu Patty Melt, and daily favorites like MAMA’s Club Sandwich, Porky Belly Fried Rice, and dinner favorites like Grilled Swordfish, Australian Wagyu Rib Cap, Endive Salad, Albacore Tartare, and Roasted Cauliflower. The curated holiday menu prepared specially by Exec Chef Jonathan Kim certainly did not disappoint.
We began with Wagyu Sliders, Oysters, and mouth-watering Fried Potato Bites. The First Course included Endive Salad, Truffle Brie & Figs, Grilled Broccolini. The Second Course was highlighted by Albacore Tartare, Croquettes featuring Spanish Chorizo and then topped with a delicious Third Course of Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Swordfish and Wagyu Rib Cap. Absolutely indulgent and tasteful. Dessert included their signature Chocolate Cake and fall favorite, the Pumpkin Cheesecake.
Specialty Featured Cocktails included Mama’s Callin’ served in a copper coup glass, Mama Wake Me Up (Espresso Martini), Mama’s Smoke Show, and their Palo-ME Mama; each better than the next.
Additionally, they have some great New Year’s Specials to check out. On New Year’s Eve, MAMA Shelter LA will be hosting MAMA’s Disco Ball Party. Available at their The Restaurant from 5:30pm – 8:30pm on New Year’s Eve, there will be a special prefix dinner menu of winter black truffles and wine pairing. Guests will begin with a beausoleil oyster or a mille-feuille potato with caviar, lobster thermidor or petite filet mignon, and finish with a delicious chocolate mousse.
The Following dinner is the MAMA’s Disco Ball New Years Eve Party! From 9pm to 2am, MAMA will feature DJs, live magic, tarot readings, burlesque dancers, a photo booth, a drag show, special prize giveaways, champagne towers, a midnight Prosecco toast, and so much more! Open bar from 9pm to 1am and food will be served from 10pm to 12am.
