Rewriting PR in the ChatGPT Era
Ingrid Dodd’s career is proof you don’t need to stick to one lane. By her mid-20s, she was earning six figures in sales. After 9/11, she stepped away for six years to raise her children. Then after six years, she walked into a construction site for the Allegria Hotel and told them they needed to hire her—and they did. Soon she was booking Justin Bieber, Billy Joel, and Joan Jett, and co-founding the Long Beach International Film Festival, creating the first-ever red-carpet movie screening on the beach.
For more than 10 years she’s has worked as the director of digital media and communications media for Optyx New York, a luxury eyewear boutique brand. It had six locations when she started; now it has 14, from New York City to East Hampton.
Producing luxury events is a passion of hers, working with brands like Christian Louboutin, Akoni and Porshe. Today, Dodd leads a digital marketing team in Ukraine, co-hosts the award-winning Rebranding Menopause podcast, an unapologetic girlfriend’s guide for women of all ages to remind them that they are the CEO of their own health and wellness, and is a familiar face appearing in live product roundups and on-air segments alongside her clients. Dodd encourages her clients to get in front of the camera and to tell their story. Media has completely changed, she says, but people haven’t: “They want to hear a good story, and I’m leading my clients in that direction.
Traveling from Paris to Italy to Turks and Caicos for her clients, Dodd embraces the experience with her magical energy. “Protect your sacred time. Love your family, your circle, your dogs—mine are my world,” she says. “Going into midlife relationships are key. But now we have the tools to tell our own story—and that’s power. If you ever told me I would be naked in the water in Turks and Caicos with Meadow and Bark in a full-blown naked photo shoot, I would’ve said you’re out of your mind. But that’s the confidence that age gives you.”
Dodd’s a Game Changer award winner, a midlife powerhouse, a woman who believes the future belongs to those bold enough to embrace it.” When ChatGPT-5 dropped in August, Ingrid Dodd didn’t just test it, she became obsessed. “It excites the hell out of me,” she says. “You can run an entire company with a handful of people if you know how to leverage AI. The key is to stay ahead of the curve, because if you’re standing still, you’re already behind.”
