The first annual “Moonlight Gala” benefiting CARE – Children With Special Needs – will take place at Casa Cipriani ballroom on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, hosted by esteemed real estate developer Michael Cayre and artist/NFT notable Roy Nachum along with MeganMoon Museum. The Inaugural gala is chaired by global hospitality entrepreneur Richie Akiva, celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, notable venture capitalist and philanthropist Patrick Finnegan, Sophie Cohen, Monot creative director Eli Mizrahi, and Helly Nahmad. Event partners include Akiva’s exclusive SOCIETE membership club, FTX, Vito Schnabel Gallery, Give Well, Moonpay and MegaMoon Crown Kids.
Mayor Eric Adams will be on hand to say a few words in support of the organization and their work during opening remarks.
The gala will include a featured performance by Grammy-winning recording artist Miguel, with other surprise special guests. A slew of top supermodels, actors, music artists, renowned mixed media artists, NY socialites, and movers and shakers within the real estate, tech, crypto/NFT, finance, art and fashion worlds are expected to be in attendance.
The gala will honor Ivan Soto-Wright of MoonPay and Sam Bankman-Fried of FTX.
Sotheby’s to host a live auction featuring a handful of top level exclusive experiences, high end art and luxury items. Incredible artwork is expected to included original pieces from Vito Schnabel Gallery such as a Jordy Kerwick, high end jewelry pieces and watches inclusive of a luxury watch presentation by Jacob Arabo (Jacob & Co), one-of-a-kind experiences including a private suite for 18 to see a Harry Styles concert at MSG, a private jet trip to a luxury resort in Tulum, Mexico, a NYFW experience with Gigi Hadid including two runway show seats with a backstage meet and greet plus styling by celebrity stylist Mimi Cuttrell, and a multi-day lavish staycation package in the Presidential Suite at Casa Cipriani, among others. About The Cause: CARE’s Mission is to help parents of children with autism, seizures, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, development delay and undiagnosed disorders. Families turn to CARE as the multitude of challenges affect them and their family for the first step. They meet with each family and customize a plan, offering emotional and material support, holding their hand through their journey, offering grants to qualifying families. Some examples of support include school placement guidance, volunteers to the home, counseling referrals and support groups, assisting to coordinate state funding for the families with nursing, SSI, comhab and more, help secure eligibility for the government services and programs, etc.
Due to the generosity of the Moonlight Gala attendees, CARE is facilitating grants to over 18 diverse organizations including: Make-A-Wish, Columbia University Pediatrics, Child Mind Institute and Reach for the Stars Learning Center, among many others.
