In the Hamptons, where life’s biggest milestones are celebrated with extraordinary attention to detail, Rocio Fukuda has quietly become one of the East End’s most sought-after cake designers. Through Rustik Cake Studio, her custom creations have graced celebrations for everyone from local families to internationally recognized names, including Beyoncé, Metallica, Michelle Williams, Charles Woodson, Kaki Swid, and Sarah Lee. Her client list spans local families and internationally recognized names alike, but for Fukuda, every cake begins in the same place—with the story of the person she’s creating it for.

What began as a hobby soon became something much more. Whenever Fukuda arrived at a gathering with one of her cakes, she watched people’s faces light up. Their excitement and gratitude made her realize that baking wasn’t simply a creative outlet—it was a way to become part of life’s happiest moments. “When I saw how happy people were when they received one of my cakes, I realized this passion wasn’t just for my own joy—it was for the people celebrating with them,” Fukuda says. As a single mother, Fukuda intentionally built Rustik Cake Studio around the life she wanted for her family. Operating from a commissary kitchen rather than a storefront has given her the flexibility to be present for her son while continuing to grow a business built almost entirely through word of mouth and loyal clients.
