Jessica Vosk: Broadway Sensation Releases First Christmas Album & Launches Symphony Tour

By Christine Montanti

Known for her powerhouse vocals and transformative stage presence, Jessica Vosk is redefining holiday magic through her full-length Christmas album SLEIGH, a symphonic tour and a starring role on Broadway. Vosk will be performing at some of the nation’s most notable venues during her December Symphony Christmas Tour and is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on December 20th and 21st.  These performances, which are accompanied by The National Symphony Orchestra and the New York Pops, will enable audiences to enjoy Vosk’s fusion of orchestral music with a magical asssortment of songs from SLEIGH, as well as other classic holiday favorites.

The singer’s digital version of the full-length Christmas album SLEIGH was released last month while the physical CD and vinyl version will be available this Friday, December 6th; it  is comprised of a blend of classics and unique interpretations created with an impressive roster of collaborators. Produced by Scott M. Riesett, Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Terrence Meck, and Vosk herself, to name a few, features contributions from David Foster, Neil Patrick Harris, Ariana DeBose and Scott Hoying. The first single is a cover of Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me” which Vosk, a friend of Grande, reorchestrated and arranged in time for the song’s 10th anniversary.

Ariana Grande commented on Vosk’s holiday album release saying, “I’m so thrilled and excited for my dear friend and sister witch, Jessica Vosk, to be releasing her first Christmas album! After being a fan of hers for so long, I am so humbled and honored that she happens to be covering my song, “Santa Tell Me” on its 10th-year anniversary (I’m actually screaming.)”

Vosk adds, “Ariana Grande and I met while I was playing Elphaba on Broadway, during Wicked’s massive 15th anniversary year. We became soul sister friends, as we both filmed an NBC special to celebrate the anniversary. We’ve kept in touch ever since, and I’ll never forget getting a FaceTime from her, just before the news broke that she would be playing Glinda in the Wicked Fillm.”

The American singer reveals what it was like creating this album. “It’s always been a life-dream of mine to make a holiday album. As my good friend, Kristin Chenoweth told me, “It’s a rite of passage, girl!” So, when I had the idea to bring this to life, very early this year, I put together a wish list of guests I could have with me on this album, and all my wishes came true when Neil Patrick Harris, David Foster, Ariana DeBose and Scott Hoying all said yes.” Vosk has dedicated this album to her father who taught the Broadway star how to sing.

As if Vosk’s holiday schedule isn’t busy enough, the actress will be returning to Broadway December 12th playing the role of Jersey, in the critically acclaimed hit musical Hell’s Kitchen. The singer will be replacing Shoshana Bean and will bring her distinctive energy and depth to this beloved character.
