Off-Season in the Hamptons: Cultural Activities

You may not have heard of it yet, but the Hamptons Visitors Council (HVC) has been operating since 1991 promoting tourism to the region, especially during the much slower off-seasons. The organization partners closely with the Hamptons’ wealth of cultural, heritage, art, performance and nature center organizations, which all offer rich and renowned programming all year.

Check out HVC’s ‘Taste the Towns and Fall in Love with the South Fork starting on November 5 which will include themed Jitney operated and self-guided cultural, heritage, art and performance tours throughout Southampton. And, don’t miss special offers on craft beverages and transportation to/from NYC.

The tours cover the towns from Westhampton Beach to Bridgehampton. They are fun and different, ranging from an artists studio tour to family fun and learning at various venues. The festivities will end on December 3 with a guided docent tour of the Parrish Art Museum and a wine tasting at Duckwalk Vineyard.

HVC’s collaborative partners include the Parrish Art Museum, the Southampton Cultural Center, the Southampton Arts Center, the Southampton Historical Museum, the Water Mill Center, the Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE), the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center (SoFo), Bay Street Theater, WHBPAC, Hamptons Theatre Company and many more. The goal is to support these organizations to build attendance and brand, while promoting longer-stay, incremental tourism to benefit area businesses. HVC’s mission is perfectly aligned with the Town of Southampton’s comprehensive plan for sustainable economic development and quality of life.
