Can’t Miss Summer Events

Summer is right around the corner and everyone will be looking for a nice way to enjoy the warm days ahead. With so many things to do in and around the city, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the number of things to do in a single day, let alone three months. Here are a couple of events that should definitely make your must-attend summer event list.

Bacon and Beer Classic at the Brooklyn Mirage on 6/8

The Bacon and Beer Classic is coming to Brooklyn for the first time ever!  The 6th annual NYC event will take place at Brooklyn Mirage (140 Stewart Ave) on Saturday, June 8th. Brooklyn Mirage is an elusive, open-air sanctuary, which will provide the ultimate summer kickoff party backdrop to celebrate the best things in life; namely bacon and beer. Over 50 local restaurants will serve up bold bacon-inspired dishes, and the best local breweries will pour over 100 top craft beers over the course of two sessions.  Ticketed guests are invited to indulge in unlimited samplings of bacon mac ‘n cheese, pork banh mi and bacon sliders to name a few and wash it all down with unlimited pours from the best east coast brewers. The Classic will also feature incredible live music, interactive awesome games and contests. All-inclusive tickets begin at $69 and get you craft beers, bacon dishes, music, games, and the chance to participate in Hormel’s Bacon Eating Contest where the winner will receive a year’s supply of their Black Label Bacon. Grand Bazaar NYC’s 4th Annual Ice Cream Blizzard on 7/21

Manhattan’s largest weekly curated market, Grand Bazaar NYC, will host its 4th Annual Ice Cream Blizzard on Sunday, July 21st.  15 ice cream makers will be on hand on National Ice Cream Day to wow and delight in addition to 130 independent vendors of all varieties.  It’s just the kind of blizzard New Yorkers will welcome on a hot, sunny July day. Secret Summer at The Foundry on 8/4

Secret Summer is the nation’s first and only “farm-to-bar” cocktail festival. The event, which takes place on Sunday, August 4th from 3pm-9pm at The Foundry is a celebration of sustainable mixology, fresh eats, music, art, dance and fashion. Vibrant seasonal drinks are prepared with only raw, peak-season ingredients sourced from local farms and paired with the best quality spirit brands on the market.  The Foundry, located at 42-38 Ninth Street in Long Island City, provides the perfect backdrop for this annual party in its 5th year.  The fully restored 19th century building boasts 3,000 square feet of raw space with a lush outdoor courtyard and rooftop terrace that will be open to ticket-holders offering up stunning views of the Manhattan skyline along with a gorgeous indoor Greenhouse.
