Cancer Nonprofit Rhonda’s Kiss to host Legacy of Love Gala at The Ned Nomad to Benefit Brooklyn Maimonides Cancer Center

On Sept. 7, the Legacy of Love Charity Gala is taking place to kick off Fashion Week at The Ned NoMad for Cancer non-profit Rhonda’s Kiss to benefit Brooklyn Maimonides Hospital Cancer Center.

Gala chairs include Danny A. Abeckaser, Richie Akiva, Michael Cayre, Eustace Montgomery Hicks, Executive Chairman Marc Stefanski and Executive Director Kyle Stefanski.

Legacy of Love Host Committee members include Emile Hirsch, John Powers Middleton, Bryan Greenberg, Eytan Rockaway, Peter Facinelli, Robert Davi, Heshy Augenbaum, Ali Lasky, and Jus Ske. Honorary Tributes to Avner Abeckaser, Shawn Regruto and Rhonda Stefanski. Paul Scialla, co-founder and CEO of Delos, a New York-based wellness real estate and technology firm will also be receiving the Rhonda’s Kiss Leadership Award. Special guest performers TBA however Celebrity Violinist Demola is set to perform with guest DJ sets by Pookie and Jus Ske.

The Legacy of Love gala will raise funds for Brooklyn Maimonides Cancer Center and their Patient Care Program. Rhonda’s Kiss helps with all of the non-medical expenses that become overwhelming for patients, especially those that cannot afford it. Rent/Mortgage, Childcare, Wigs, Transportation, Holistic Therapy, Groceries, Ambulance costs, and much more. For full information on the cause visit rhondaskiss.org

Proceeds from the Rhonda’s Kiss Legacy of Love Gala will support non-medical services at the award-winning Maimonides Cancer Center in Brooklyn. Funding needs include Lymphedema/Compression DMEs, which most insurances do not cover; ambulance transportation for patients who need bed-to-bed transportation as they continue to experience difficulties; and education on how to access telehealth/virtual support groups. Other services that Rhonda’s Kiss will help fund include but are not limited to child care; rent; groceries; transportation; wigs; home health aides; holistic therapy, as well as incontinence supplies, and more.  This is all part of their Patient Care Program.

Past attendees have included Robin Thicke, Johnny Depp, Juliette Lewis, Evan Ross, Ashlee Simpson, Kevin Connolly, David Arquette, Bob Saget, Peter Facinelli, Emile Hirsch, and many more. Anne Heche was also a big supporter of this nonprofit, having hosted an event for them in 2021. 

The evening will feature honorary tributes, silent + live auctions, performances and more plus delicious cuisine by The Ned NoMad’s acclaimed executive chef Brian Vandergast.  El Cristiano Tequila, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Skurnik wines’ The Pinot Project are supporters of this year’s gala, among others.

The Legacy of Love gala event will be held in New York City at The Ned NoMad, the recently opened private hotel and membership club with a nonstop flow of VIPS since its grand opening in June. The Ned NoMad is part of Membership Group Collective, the owners of Soho House, with Richie Akiva teaming up with Ron Burkle for The Ned NoMad, with Akiva at the helm of the US expansion. The Ned concept was created by Nick Jones in 2017 when the UK outpost first opened. The venue features various sophisticated private rooms, dining rooms, Cecconi’s, a lavish rooftop space, Little Ned bar, live music nightly and more, plus 167 bedrooms.
