The First Annual East Hampton TV Festival is Coming to Guild Hall to Showcase the Best of World Television

The East Hampton TV Festival opens on July 22nd, in East Hampton, New York at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater and will host critically acclaimed television series, documentaries and documentary shorts over two days. A VIP Opening Reception and Closing Award Ceremony and Reception will bookend the two days of events and screenings. The inaugural East Hampton TV Festival will introduce the newest and most innovative television programming from around the world to an audience of TV industry professionals, VIP’s and the general public at the historic Guild Hall in the heart of East Hampton.

Roberto Rizzo is the founder of the New York City International Film Festival, celebrating its tenth year, and the New York City TV Festival which launched in 2018. He also is the founder of Foundation for the Arts, a 501c3 non-profit organization. He was inspired to create the East Hampton Television Festival to showcase the best of emerging television talent to the Hamptons community.

Rizzo commented, “A television festival is imperative in this new era of linear and non-linear media and streaming services have changed the way we consume multi-media and interact with television. By creating the East Hampton TV Festival, we are giving new talented filmmakers and documentarians a place in the Hamptons to showcase their work and to establish them amongst a prestigious audience.”

Actress Anthoula Katsimatides will host the festival with Rizzo and special guests Ameliarose Allen and Rebecca Knox. EHTVF will feature screenings of TV shows and documentary films made for television from Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain, France and the United States. On Monday, July 22nd, Michele Peacock of Andreadis Talent Agency will host a series of television and documentary panels to explore pertinent topics in the industry. Tatum Peacock will be interviewing on the red carpet with nominees and attendees. Singer-songwriter and actor Ameliarose Allen (“American Idol”), will perform on opening and closing nights.

The East Hampton TV Festival will also showcase multimedia projects, art and sculpture exhibitions from critically acclaimed artists and filmmakers, Susan J.BarronMarcus Jansen, Robert Cenedella, David Datuna and Stride Arts. Their respective documentaries will be screened over the two days of the festival and explore the complex relations between fine art, social justice and art institutions.

On July 22nd and 23rd, artist Susan J. Barron will exhibit “Depicting the Invisible: A Portrait Series of Veterans Suffering from PTSD, which depicts military veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pairing their portraits with the harrowing stories they have shared with her. Barron’s work shines a spotlight on American veterans who have survived the trauma of war or terrorism. The artist’s oversized black-and-white photographic portraits are painted with the subjects’ tales in their own words.

Marcus Jansen: Examine and Report” highlights artist Marcus Jansen and features Steve Lazarides, leading urban art dealer, West Rubinstein, New York Graffiti pioneer, Lawrence Voytek, Robert Rauschenberg’s longtime art production director, and many more. The film dissects the social and political influences and motivations of a former US soldier, turned critical contemporary painter and how street and graffiti art influenced painting broke through into international museums over the last decades.

Master Artist, Robert Cenedella will screen “Art Bastard”, his energetic, humorous and unapologetically honest documentary based on his prolific life as anti-establishment art disruptor. He will also exhibit various pieces of artwork over the two days in the Green Room.

The East Hampton TV Festival (EHTVF) will be held on July 22nd, 23rd, 2019, with the Opening Red-Carpet Cocktail Reception (Monday, July 22) and the Award Night (Tuesday, July 23).
